Today has been a wonderfully blessed day! The day began with my dad and I loading up all of the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes that I packed this year. I am grateful for this ministry and the opportunity to share the Gospel with children around the world. Following the church service this morning, my dad made a delicious meal, including chicken fettuccine Alfredo, a French boule (one of my favorite kinds of artisan bread), and green beans. Then, I made garden salads and my made-from-scratch white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. November 12: I'm grateful to have the joy of packing shoeboxes for @operationchristmaschild. I'm not so concerned with the brand new washcloth, colorful pencils, cuddly teddy bear, or other items enclosed inside. Instead, I have a burden on my heart for the child who will receive the box. When I pack a shoebox, I am not just putting mere things in a box. I pack the love of Jesus inside. It has been a rewarding eight days of ministry collecting over 12,000 love-filled, prayer-covered shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse. Terri and I are so incredibly thankful for the great volunteers who helped receive box after box and for all the fantastic donors who delivered a seemingly endless sea of boxes.

We had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving with our family even though our hometown Cowboys got smacked around on Thursday afternoon.

Unfortunately, we also learned that a dear friend suffered a massive seizure on Thursday after celebrating with members of his family. Doctors have found a number of tumors throughout his body, some of which are cancerous. Several years ago, this friend had the courage to ask me the question “What do you believe about Jesus?”

Terri and I would ask that you offer up praise for the magnificent work God did through thousands of OCC volunteers between November 13-November 20. We would also like to ask you to pray for our friend who will have brain surgery tomorrow (Monday). God is the greatest of all healers. We entrust our friend into His trustworthy hands.
