@antheiin
âIâm still waiting for that large chocolate shake.â Eddie was in the food court of the Mermaid Cove Mall, holding a try of two cheese-steak sandwiches and a cup of fries. The food court was really the only reason he came to the mall, that and sometimes to people watch. Venom preferred live meals but they didnât dislike the sandwiches made here and they always came to a compromise when a chocolate shake could be ordered to top the meal off. Â
[They better put extra chocolate in that.] Eddie leaned on the counter, âCan you put more chocolate in-â The power in the mall died off and then flickered on again, the screens for advertising in the food court changed to static as an eerie melody rang out over the speakers through the entire mall. Everyone stopped what they were doing, including the guy making their shake.
â...this better not be another ghost thing..â Eddie muttered under his breath as he glanced around cautiously and set the tray of food down on the table. Just after he set the tray down, it clattered onto the floor with all his food as a creature practically popped into life right on the table-top.
Then the announcement ensued as Eddie ate some of his food off the floor. He had finished one whole sandwich by the time the announcement was over, dodging the ballooned monsters.
âSomething tells me that shit like this is gonna happen pretty frequently in this city.â [At least itâs exciting.] âNo this is stupid, we picked the wrong day to get a cheese-steak.â Eddie ducked to avoid a black balloon-cat hurtling itself at his face. [We have to kill the things, we canât lose.] Eddie stumbled backwards, tripping over the chairs in the food court and meeting the ground with his ass. âJesus, I really donât feel like doing this shit today.â
Black biomass consumes Eddieâs body as Venom takes form, several people in the area (besides a certain red-head they have yet to spot) scream at the sight and flee the area - rightly finding Venom more terrifying that the silly balloons. With a snarl, they jump across the court and tear apart every balloon-cat they see - black and white.
Honestly, this whole event should have pissed him off more.
People, innocent or otherwise, being treated as mere pieces in a game... Lives uprooted again for some pompous monsterâs sick entertainment... Neither of the two being in a strictly meta-fictional sense...
Plus, the whole âcats are evilâ motif. Never a fan of the trope, Travis was.
And the timing. Good lord/Suda/reader above, the timing. Not Golden Ward turning into a Battle Royale while Travis was (yet again) staying the night over at Rosaâs, mind you. That little coincidence was a blessing - saved Travis the hassle of running over to Rosa from his own ward (and likely getting chewed out for it). But the fact that this whole disaster just so had to happen right after Travis finally got a girlfriendâŠ
He was going to hear jokes about this. Somehow, someway, someone was going to blame him (and only him) for this. He just knew it.
So, why wasnât Travis pissed? Why was the otaku assassin enjoying this so much?
Simple.
Travis was too busy to care. Too busy being a love-struck nerd, hopped up on âpost-relationship-upgradeâ euphoria. Too busy slicing dozens of demonic cat balloons to ribbons, and/or pausing to dreamily admire Rosa Cervantesâ fire-breathing, earth-shaking, car-throwing handiwork.
They were even throwing down at The Boardwalk; at an amusement park. By all means, this?Â
âItâs like our first date!â
@landsharkbite
[A Bad situation to be in indeed- Like this for a Mini Event Based starter for Pandemonium! Heâs willing to help (nearly) anyone if they need help and is willing to partner up with someone to kill two birds with one stone.
 The cap will be at 5 as usual!]
@gotcrimes
Looking around at the various people and groups running around, Joey slowed to a halt to catch his breath. Heâs been at it for a while and honestly had the bare minimum of points, not counting the ones that were stolen away from the black balloons. It wasnât a good situation by a long shot but it was better than waiting around for someone to try a hand at his life. Still, even in this bleak situation he didnât want to not help anyone consindering the severe punishment that would come from it.
Shaking his head, he noticed a...bipedal fox? looking around with a weapon of his own hunting for what he assumed was the balloons as well.
âHey, are you alright? Do you..need any help?âÂ
@sanctummilitis
What a time to be in Golden Ward right now, getting caught here was a really bad idea. But hesitating was even worse as a lot of people were trying to escape while getting points for themselves- making them desperate. Joey helped out the best he could by netting at least a 100 points so victims wouldnât get transformed, but it also ended in the hot situation of not having any points himself.
âIâll be fine, a little transformation never hurt me.â Except it did, a lot. And they looked extremely painful. Looking around, his eyes caught on someone who wielded a sword fighting a few of the balloon summons but one of them that was creeping from above was a black balloon.Â
âWATCH OUT!â Before his mind, his body moved to throw a knife at the balloon, popping it and a loud âBEEPâ coming from the Catculator signifying his attainment of -100 points.
@ubiytsar
Everythingâs been such a drag lately, even beating up the local trouble makers was a little boring. So when the prospect of this seemingly stupid game came forward Clint met it with enthusiasm. So what if he might get turned into some inhuman thing for getting a low score - low score. Like that was even gonna happen.
Clint pulled his phone out and went to texting someone else who might enjoy this little exercise.
[contact: Nat :) ]
[1/ 2 ] idk if u know whats going on in golden but if you feel like stretching ur legs a bit
[2/ 2 ] bet u cant pop more of these ridiculous balloons than me ;)
And with that sent he turns his location on.
@kineticcardtricks
âGah-â [Where are we going? Turn around and get those stupid things.] Eddie huffs was he runs from some black calloons. âThe black ones wonât help us!â He shouts, though it was really unnecessary to do so - more of a in the moment while running from stupid cat balloons. The count on his wrist was at 50 from a mix of popping both white and black balloons thus far.Â
After successfully dodging he rounds the corner to catch his breath. âThis is the stupidest fucking thing...â Another huff before he looks up and notices theyâre not alone as the stranger swings a wooden lance as the balloons in the area.
âOh uh...â He straightens himself up, âYou look like youâre having better luck than me.â
