Steve had been watching the other man for the past ten minutes. Tony always had some sort of media playing at all times. Steve preferred it when the other man played music or news or film. Music was a way of understanding the culture around him. Depending on the genre and song, Steve was able to learn a substantial amount about a certain time period he missed out on.
Music was also telling of an individual's personality. How a person reacted to a song told Steve a lot about them, their preferences and their mood.
Tony caught his eye earlier. The ever-trendy socialite was dancing, quite openly, to whatever music was on rotation in the lab. Steve carefully set down his coffee and leaned back to get a good look at him through one of the open windows. Tony would tap his toe or shake his hips depending on the tune and the scientific progress that Steve assumed he was making.
After observing for a while, Steve mustered up the courage to interrupt. He had offered to “cut in” with a good amount of jest but the sound of his own voice didn’t seem as humorous as he had intended.
Maybe he was entirely serious.
“You seemed to be alright with the location,” Steve pointed out, referring to the other man’s earlier swaying and movements.
