“𝕮𝖍𝖔𝖔𝖘𝖎𝖓𝖌.” The tears were soaking the blanket under her face.“I’m mine. I don’t belong to anyone else.”
“I’m still yours, though. That won’t ever change, 𝕾𝖍𝖆𝖉𝖔𝖜 𝕲𝖎𝖗𝖑.” And then he was gone.

I read Cold Iron Heart a couple days ago. I enjoyed it quite a bit, though there were some things I didn’t like about it.
What I loved most about it was Rika and Niall and their interactions. I loved how Niall sympathised with Rika and tried to be kind to her, and how he thought she was brave. I loved how they both liked each other even though they were on opposing sides. And I loved how angry and defiant Rika was.
I also liked reading about what it was like for Niall serving the Summer Court during the curse years. It was really interesting reading his observations about how callous Keenan could be and how he felt like he (Niall) didn’t really fit into the Summer Court.
The revelation that Beira was brutally attacking Niall to the point of near-death during the curse years was also interesting (and very sad). It was just one more thing he had to endure. Also interesting that Irial had to heal Niall. It’s sad that Niall had to endure Beira’s painful attacks and that Irial had to watch Niall almost die for nine centuries.
Also, poor Rika. I liked how the book showed that she was a victim of Beira’s abuse just like Niall was. I’m glad she got her happy ending in Desert Tales.
What is the point of having male characters if you don’t put them in lingerie? My OC Irial (he/him)
Irial came first
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to point out that before Sarah J. Maas’s Rhysand became the hot dark fae standard, there was another hot sassy fae King on the market (sexy tattoos included).
Let me introduce you to Irial, part-time King of the Dark Court and full-time total adorable asshole from the gorgeous fantasy series “Wicked Lovely (2005)” by Melissa Marr.
