Imelda pressed a brief kiss to Iris’ cheek.
Iris froze, staring at her.
“…Imelda?”
“Don’t read too much into it. We couldn’t dance together, so...”
“Oh? I thought you weren’t interested.”
“Do you really want to start this?”
“Oh, come on. What happened to our ridiculously competitive captain? The fastest broom flyer in the wizarding world?”
Imelda rolled her eyes. Here she goes again.
“Well, I was being sarcastic. Anyway...”
She stepped closer, backing Imelda against the nearby wall.
The dark-haired girl closed her eyes. Their breaths mingled.
Then...
Nothing happened.
Instead, the redhead’s breath grew more distant.
Imelda opened her eyes.
Iris was laughing.
At that moment, Imelda seriously considered punching her.
“You really enjoyed that, didn’t you?”
“Maybe?”
Then the dark-haired girl punched her in the gut.
Iris let out a quiet yelp before laughing again. This time even louder. “Okay, okay. Sorry.”
“Still funny for you, huh?”
Iris grinned, rubbing her stomach.
“It is. And that was worth it.”
Imelda clicked her tongue and turned on her heel.
“You’re insufferable.”
She raised a hand without looking back as she walked away, leaving Iris behind, still rubbing her stomach.
