Hello! Thank you so much for your kind words, and we’re always taking questions, so feel free to send any in that you would like answered or discussed! The admins of this blog also love and stan Ye Qingti (what a good soft boy), but the short answer is, we don’t know for sure whether or not he will officially take over Donghua’s job, even though he’s been appointed. The text doesn’t say, and the extra chapters don’t hint at anything either.

To go a bit into mythos/the story setting, Donghua’s job consists of greeting the immortals that have become immortal through cultivation and giving them a “job” or an immortal rank/position, so to speak. It’s...a very easy job, according to Donghua, and not greatly important, so Qingti could presumably do it regardless of immortal experience. It’s probably fair to assume that Qingti at least works for Taichen Palace, even if he doesn’t completely take over Donghua’s job, or that it’s possible he’ll be “substitute” for a while.

I say this both because 1) Donghua will have to take it real easy after the stuff he pulled in the starlight ward for a couple thousand years to recover his cultivation and 2) The impression I get from the book (though it’s been a second, don’t quote me) is that the Jade Pool and Immortal Position Appointments happen once every number of years, and it’s unclear if Qingti can be reappointed to do something else until the next appointment period?

Hi! It’s just someone’s headcanon as far as we know, as admin Ro can’t source anywhere where its come from. Tang Qi herself has also, paraphrasing, answered a question about the other two couples (Dongfeng and Qian x Yehua) if they were going to have more kids as “?????? I guess?????” in one of her Q&As.

We only know for sure and certain Lian Song and Cheng Yu are having a child in Lotus Step, but even Tang Qi herself didn’t know the gender yet as also answered in one of her Q&As.
