Palace Bar, Dublin 😁
Hartely’s on Monday night.
The Plough and Stars is celebrating 50 years. Mass Ave Cambridge. Not your average bar. Paidrig and Peter O’Malley created the place and within a few years it was attracting as regulars Bonnie Raitt, Seamus Heaney, Van Morison. It was where the premier literary journal Ploughshares was born. Paidrig is the subject of a new documentary titled The Peacemaker. He convened a series of conferences in the eighties and nineties on the Northern Ireland conflict which led to the Easter Agreement. The O’Malley’s still own the place. I would go there on first dates.
Friend Street. Boston.
