Titan Quest Review
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Titan Quest has been one of my favourite all time games since the first release in 2006. 12 years later and we are finally seeing it on consoles. Now the question on everyone’s minds are is it worth getting?
The game has always been compared to the Diablo series and was considered to be the Greek Diablo game. It also received an expansion called Immortal Throne and last year it received a new one called Ragnarok. Now we have it on the current-gen consoles but weirdly without the latest expansion. There are rumours that we will get the new expansion later in the year, but I still feel that we are being robbed a little not having it now. The Switch version will also be released later this year.
Now onto the how the actual game is on the PS4, I was really excited to get started and was happy to get going. The first thing I noticed was that the game feels very much ported and not re-made. With this the game’s controls are ok, it works although there are some bugs or sluggish feelings. The graphics looks like it has been slightly improved but nothing to go crazy on. For me it looks exactly like it did when I played it on my PC just with better textures. There are also some glitches with the graphics as sometimes sprites might not show completely, or textures will not show correctly.
If you are a massive Titan Quest fan like me then you will be willing to overlook that the game is almost a direct port as it is just so much fun to play it on a console. We have also been promised that they will be releasing a patch that will allow couch co-op on the console which will be very cool.
The conclusion is that Titan Quest on the console offers everything that it does on PC except with the latest expansion. At the end of the day, it is an awesome dungeon crawler that will keep you busy for eons and it is so much fun playing co-op. The game retails for about R499 which is not bad. I bought it for my Wife just so that we can play it Co-Op now already and not having to waiting for the couch co-op.
Titan Quest is one of those classics that must be in every gamer’s arsenal and it doesn’t matter on what platform, at least now every latest platform owner has an option to own it except for Nintendo Switch owners who needs to wait a little longer. I hope that the game will get some great bug fixes and that we will get the Ragnarok expansion soon.
And finally, hopefully this means that they have started working on Titan Quest 2.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”29137,29138,29139,29140,29141″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
