Lot to like in Iron Lung but honestly the first time that motherfucker gets thrown across the room- unforgettable. The first time it looks like the world's greatest pratfall over a stool, and then the second after Mark's hurtling like 5 feet horizontal through the air.
AND it is not without significance that the left arm is Simon's Killin Arm, as exemplified by him using that arm to grab the medical tape/gauze scissors to Stab a Motherfucker.
I already played this game with my friends but I'm still thinking about it so I'm posting it for the mutuals. Tag yourself as a line from Iron Lung that has become a compulsive/vocal stim for me:
THE STARSsh ARE GONE.
An oceannnn of blood
How many times are you gonna use me beforeyou LET ME GO?!
You just BLASTED us with RADIATION you p s y c h o E d e n fUCK!
THE. SKELETONNNNNN-ISSSS-GONE.

not EVERYONE GETS to be SAVED!
(markiplier voice cracking) AWWWH, FUCK MEEEEEEEeeeeee!
I am not Upset by this at all but I am noticing an overwhelming majority of folks noting that the first 30 minutes of Iron Lung felt slow - my experience and opinion is the opposite. During the first 30 minutes, I felt worry that things were moving a little too fast, that we were rushing past material that seemed very well fit for a "slowburn" or more impactful reveals. First 30 minutes, I would have done a lot of things differently. That being said, I do not feel that the first 30 minutes robbed anything of the rest of the movie. Just noticing this very common expression - that the first 30 felt slow. Did anyone else? At all? Feel like the first 30 was worryingly quick?
Also one must NOT mistake my vehement Iron Lungposting and screaming about this piece of media for believing that it is Without Flaw or that Mr. Markiplier needs to "be defended" in any way. Markiplier is a flaws-first person, for better or for worse, he will lead with "This isn't perfect, but..." and if you could talk to him about ANY piece of work he has done, he would Not Listen to you if you had NOTHING but good things to say about it. But the fact is that. I don't need. To preface my praise with "it's not perfect, but." "It has flaws, but." "I have my issues, but." Because engaging and analyzing and enjoying media is not, in fact, for the purpose of finding the one without flaws. The one that is best. Concert artists do not play to see who will finish the piece fastest. Painters do not paint to see who can use the most colors. Dancers do not dance to reach a specific place on a dance floor. My man, it's fine to take issue, any issue, with a piece of media. But you have to be having a good-faith argument, or else you must simply say "it was not for ME." This rapidly devolves into "Well, I'm watching the movie RIGHT and you aren't," but there's very little to be done about that. This movie was FOR ME. Iron Lung is FOR ME. I will call it perfect and incredible and the best movie ever made - I also don't mean it literally, and I think there's an astounding number of people trying to "review" this movie and look Smart and like they want to Get A Good Grade In Media Analysis by saying "ummmm, guys???? I don't think this is the best film ever made, lmao?????"
So if I am opening up your review of Iron Lung and it starts with "I couldn't get over that it was Markiplier," or "It was too slow," I'm not going any further. These are not........ good faith criticisms. You are not interested in Improving the piece that was made, you are interested in a different piece altogether. And that is. Fine. But just admit that.
