For those curious about the series I reblogged just before this, it’s called Teppu.
It’s about a prodigy named Natsuo Ishido who is “good at everything naturally” and was always praised for it. She is the main character, but also in many ways is the series primary antagonist. (anti-hero I guess would be better, but that comes way later)
Her attitude in the series ranges from “garbage lady” to “beautifully wholesome” and everything inbetween. But often she comes off as haughty and rests on her laurels quite a bit.
She has a rival, Yuzuko Mawatari (the other girl pictured in the cover below) who, in contrast, has worked every day for everything she has, is much smaller than Natsuo, and no matter what, win or lose, will always smile.
Some final notes:
It’s super gay, there’s a lot of “OH MY GOSH!!!!!” Moments but it has little payoff for this.
Natsuo looks like a giant, but she’s only 5’9”-5’10”
It can get really heavy and has a lot of “noooooo” moments that could, potentially, make you uncomfy... but the end sticks the landing and gives enough resolution to each character’s growth.
I cannot attest to any translation out there made for it, I had someone who knows Japanese help me read the series. So take anything you see in English, as far as translation, with a bit of a gain of salt.

Ok so the most recent QF episode got me thinking... is the iron wind capable of destroying the apocrita??
because the wind isn’t a conscious entity as far as we know so it doesn’t have a memory it can be trapped in so it might be immune
or would the apocrita consume it and gain the powers of the iron wind as well and become even more terrifying and Very Very Bad™??
What an excellent manga (img source is Teppuu by Moare Ota, scanlated by waterflame)
