Iron Wolf by Siri Pettersen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars Iron Wolf is by no means a perfect book. In fact, I do have some issues with it. Occasional missing punctuation and things of that ilk, but if you can look over that, there is a wonderful story waiting just beneath. Enough for me to still call it my favourite book after three rereads. Juva is a brilliant protagonist, seeing her morph and change and, in some ways, become exactly what she hates and, in other ways, transcending that. She is badass, and takes no shit. She's exactly what I like in a strong female protagonist. I don't love her thing with Grif; it's more lust than love, and I don't like that. But I'm also very hard to please when it comes to romance. The story is intriguing, draws you in, and spits you out completely different. It's gritty; there's deception and plans and blood. So very much of it. I love the blood readers, them being nothing of their original shape and seeing how time has destroyed them and turned them into swindlers. I love the Vardari, and I'm excited to see how their war with each other and the world unfolds in the next book. Being in an unfinished series is my only true gripe with this book; you should read it anyway, though. Join me in the wait. View all my reviews
