Credit to @trimacenyoface : Ironman 70.3 Bariloche SWIM 🏊🏼♀️ When I woke up on race morning and saw an air temp of 45 and water temp of 59🥶, I seriously considered saying to hell with it 😂. But as the sun rose, so too did the temperature. I was still very nervous about the cold water though. I tried my best to keep my nerves at bay, but as we all know, that is usually easier said than done on race morning. I put on my wetsuit, neoprene cap, silicon earplugs, race cap, and goggles and went into the water with my friend @lauracaitruz70. Surprisingly, I didn’t feel as much of a shock from the cold water as I expected, however, my face was certainly cold. Early on into the swim I got a mouth full of water and choked a bit. After I got that under control, I really started to find my rhythm. The water was so clear that I could see all the way to the bottom and when sighting, I got the most incredible views of the mountains just beyond the lake(SWIPE ➡️ to see the view). It was by far the most beautiful swim thus far for me. Probably one of my favorite parts about the swim leg was the dog that met me at the shore at the start of my second lap. He made my heart happy and made that 2nd lap that much better. All in all, I couldn’t have asked for a better swim considering the conditions. I feel like I could have pushed my pace but looking at my HR data, it was a lot higher than normal during swims. ••• What’s the coldest water temp you have swam in???
