i've been a bit weirded out by some of the mastodon explainers i've seen online. starting by claiming how difficult it is to use feels like it insults the intelligence of the readership and scares people away. starting by explaining what "federation" means is going too far in the other direction and ALSO scares people away. mastodon is legitimately really cool and should be the most exciting thing happening online rn.

Just out of curiosity, how much do you know about the Gearloose family in general!

tragically not much outside of Don Rosa’s use of his grandfather- Ratchet- in the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck (and brief mention of his father, Fulton, in another story... which I can’t put my finger on but I know he does come up)- but I do love that the whole inventor bug is part of his heritage, as is being open minded and happy and helpful and cute and zany and aaaa i really love Gyro Gearloose okay
