The Question
There was a certain energy to Chat that none of the other people she had been with had ever managed to match.
Whether it was touching him, kissing him, holding him, talking to him, or just existing with him, there were other people and then there was Chat. At this moment she was engaged in a different contemplation however. There was a question she needed an answer to.
She pulled away from his lips for a second and spun him around, pressing his back to the wall and looking up into his sparkling eyes. She grabbed is face and asked in a hushed voice "Chat, would you die for me?" He gulped and nodded, whispering "you know I would". She pressed her lips to his again, tongues dancing a familiar dance.
She let herself be spun around, her back to the wall this time. Before he could start the flirting back up she stopped him cold with a finger to his lips. Piercing him with an intense look she asked "Would you kill for me?"
In a chocked voice he answered, half in awe, half in fear
"You know I have, my lady"
She let herself be spun around again, let herself be drawn into another kiss.
Pulling away his lips again, she grasped his cheeks. His smirk fell from his face and the teasing question about where exactly she was going with those questions died on his face. Her fingernails turned to claws against his skin, if he was an ordinary human she surely would have pierced his skin.
Through narrowed eyes she hissed "But would you live for me? " He startled, she took a step toward him, still clutching his face. "It's not a complex question Mon Chaton, if I was stuck and couldn't get out and I told you to run would you" she leaned her full weight onto him, laying her head on his neck.
One, two three butterfly kisses on his neck.
Bearly making a sound she whispered into his skin "if you were holding my hand at the end and I told you to find someone new, would you?"
She shook, desperately clutching him. "Please Chat! Will you live if I'm gone? " Uncountable Emotions were swimming in his gorgeous eyes
"Tell me!"
She demanded.
"I don't know. " He whispered "i hope it never comes to that." Gently he removed her hands from his face, placing a gentle kiss on each. He closed her into his arms and she heard his heart beat, erratic and fast.
They stood like that for a few moments. Perhaps minutes, perhaps hours. She felt sorry for ruining the mood but she needed to know.
He sniffed and she felt droplets hit her hair.
He was
He was crying.
Her dearest partner was crying.
She had genuinely distressed him.
She needed his answers, no matter how much pressing him like this hurt.
"I think I would try. " He said wobbly. "I don't know if I would succeed but I would try."
A shuddering breath. "Loosing someone you love hurts in a way that you don't really ever heal from. You're never quite the same after." She looked up into swimming green eyes. He smiled a watery smile at her"but I promise " Chat said reverently"I promise to still be. To live if you're gone before me. " He sighed"I don't know if I could but I will try"
That was all she could ask for.
That was all she would ask for.
She knew he would try his best.
For her.
In her Memory.
If.
She kissed him.
