So the last month and a half completely sucked (and I declined to post about it) but! I got a new place! I just made it in under the wire to not lose housing by a 6 day margin.

The new place does not have roommates.

This sounds less important than it feels. The new place has no one else in it. It’s not really unpacked yet but the kitchen is functional so this morning I woke up and decided to make biscuits immediately, and discovered that the window covering casts rainbows on the oven.

In my old place I rarely stayed in the kitchen more than 30 seconds past the time I needed to get in, put a food into some sort of cooking implement, and get out. If there were rainbows I was not looking for them. Maybe twice a year I got around this by cooking something for someone else and therefore justifying my presence in the kitchen.

I have stayed in here all morning. The biscuits taste pretty good.
