The box was an awkward dsize, but luckily since it was mostly filled with paperwork, it wasn’t unbearably heavy. Still, after Charlotte climbed the steps of the courthouse, battling with the heavy wooden doors while keeping everything in order must have been a sight for anyone passing by. She could have waited, or asked for help, but what kind of impression would she be making first weeks into the job if she couldn’t even deliver some legal documents and evidence?
“Which way to the District Attorney’s office?” She asked, looking to one of the people passing by the front desk barrier. “Who are you?” It was asked with a scoff that made Charlotte’s expression twist up slightly in annoyance. What did she have to do? Get a name tag VIP pass? “I’m with Thompson Legal. I need to see the D.A.” If this guy thought he was going to get any more information out of her, he was sorely mistaken. “If you aren’t going to point me in the right direction, I’m sure there’s more important things for you to do here than harass me.”
The employee sputtered, trying to come up with some sort of comeback and Charlotte set the box down with a loud, echoing crash on the front desk. “I’ll wait.”
