Hi Lydia! I hope you’re doing well :) Bry and I were researching recently about Sebastian’s ethnic/racial background and came up with some fun possibilities. Given that the Vael family has ties to Queen Asha Campana, and other connections to Antiva, and that the Queen was from Rivain, can it be taken as fairly canon that he has Afro-Latinx roots? Would love to know your thoughts :)

Kwe’ nitap! A lot of royalty in Thedas has Queen Asha as a distant ancestor, and so that alone isn’t really anything to go by. It’s more a matter of less distant ancestry, you know? Which yep, in Last Flight, the reason Amadis Vael was in Antiva is because her family sent her there to find a husband. The Vael family goes to Antiva to marry. Why Antiva? Why not Orlais, or anywhere else in the Free Marches? Because of familial roots is certainly a reasonable assumption, especially given that Amadis has non-descriptive Antivan features. (She is initially mistaken to be Antivan.) And hell, if not original familial roots, and they just really like Antiva, then by Sebastian’s generation, he’d certainly have direct Antivan relatives.

I personally see him as a brown Latino or Afro-Latino too. 🙂

Kalohwya! I hope you're doing well despite all that's going on. I "don't go here" as I don't know much about X-Men, but I always love seeing you create and reblog content about them. Especially the New Mutants (Yes I do somehow have a crush on Dani Moonstar despite never having read the comics). I saw you said you'd prefer to see Dani and Karma get together and I was wondering if you'd be willing to share why! I'd love to hear your thoughts :)

Kwe’! 🖤 Honestly a lot has to do with Dani being my #1 favourite New Mutant and Karma being my 3rd fave, i.e. I just like them both individually as characters more, you know? And as far as their relationship goes, they get really close in New Mutants vol 2 and continued ever since. (In the semi-recent Dead Souls, Tran even says Dani is Karma’s “beloved”. Just sayin.) whereas at the same point, Dani and Rahne really drift apart. (Well, drift apart makes it seem more passive... see, Rahne decided to secretly date Josh Foley, Dani’s adopted son. While yes they may have been not that far apart in years in abstract, she’s a teacher and he’s a student; she’s a legal adult in an adult position and he’s a kid in a kid’s position. Needless to say it did not end well for anyone.)

The drive to Soames Street was less than two minutes - if she hadn’t already been on her way into town, she would have walked. It didn’t take long to find the house in question; it was small, but well kept, with borders of wildflowers and several birdhouses in the front garden space. The cat was purring in her arms, and she stroked his head idly as she walked to the door and rang the bell.

There was a shuffling of feet, and then a face appeared in the doorway. It was not Hana, who she had been expecting, but a man. A handsome one. He looked tired, and was wearing hospital scrubs, and as he took her in, it seemed like his brain was lagging several seconds behind the rest of his body. He was tall - very tall, broad and blonde. Stubble peppered his chin and he was almost as freckled as she was.

“Um. Hi. My name is Ori?” She stammered over her words a little, trying to stop the prickle of heat creeping up her neck. “I spoke to someone on the phone about half an hour ago. Her name was Hana. I believe this is your cat. I found him asleep on my bed this morning.”

i think anon is talking about harassment of queer bipoc who enjoy cullen. also; i think you could use some more examination on anders and your disregard for muslim and other effected fans who feel so uncomfortable with anders apologism and stark support for the chantry explosion when there are very valid and worrying aspects of that.

harassment is a strong word. stating my opinion on my blog is harassment? i always tag it, and i only talk about it when it comes up. or when some clown comes into my inbox about it.

and ive made it clear i dont support everything about anders, i support the explosion bc it was more of a statement. i dont support actual explosions??

im not sure if you know this but for years now theres been an anti anders month. sometimes twice a month. a lot of it has been just shitposting between other anders fans. 

there has never been, to my knowledge, an anti cullen month. bc unlike some fans, we do mind our business and put anti cullen posts in the main tag. actual harassment :)
