Swap shifted in his sleep as if he was trying to sit up but some weight was standing on his chest holding him down. He made a low whimper and his fingers dug into the mattress of the hospital bed. it seemed he was having a nightmare.
He shouted suddenly at top volume. “IT WASN’T MY FAULT! I DIDN’T KNOW!”
He jerked upwards into a full sitting position and wrapped his arms around his torso. He was breathing hard and after a moment he looked around with panic at his unfamiliar surroundings.
“WHERE AM I? WHAT-“ He froze as he spotted Arial and Wrenne. He stared at them like a deer in the headlights.

At that comment last comment her smile faded and she looked down at her new brother. Without any warning or her even wanting tears began to trickle down her cheeks and she gladly returned the hug.

She held onto him, making no signs of letting him out of the hug. "You're such a dork." she basically breathed. "And by the way Swap- Love ya too." So she had heard him back there.

Swap froze and looked up at her, his eyes sparkled with love. Not the kind of love that had looked up at her earlier that day, but the love that had actually kept him alive in the battle. The kind of love that Swap had always prized more. The love that made people do crazy things but in the best way. The love of a brother. He shifted and wiped away some of her tears and hoped a simple smile could carry the message of how thankful he was.

Her smile widened and she just squished him some more. The love for him was practically radiating from all nine souls. She... she could count on him. And Wrenne. This was.. new. This was.. nice. This was.. perfect. From now on, you, and PJ and Wrenne and whoever else may end up in this crazy family... I won't let anything, ANYTHING hurt you, Swap. It was an impossible promise she was making, but she was beyond determined to keep it.
As she was still crying she soon ended up falling asleep as she was. Exhaustion took over but at least she was smiling.

The door to the restaurant opens and Arial walks in. She's wearing a tie-dyed sundress with white sandals- where she got these from is beyond her but it worked. And luckily it covered the stain on her leg. In all honesty, this is probably the most feminine Wrenne or Swap has seen her. And tucked behind her ear was the rose Swap had given her, the thorns carefully picked off. She was really going all out.
She waved to them, giving a smile. "Hey."

He turned back to face Arial and finally noticed her leg. “what is that?! how did this happen?! is this the 'little hiccup' you mentioned?!" He activated his magic and green sparked to life around his hands. Simple healing magic, it couldn’t do much but it was a bit of a pain relief and didn't need direct contact with any wound. He hesitated a second before carefully cupping her face and staring her straight in the eyes. Eyes far too lovely to show this much pain. “please! tell me how to help.”

As some of the pain numbed a bit she didn't quite entirely know her surroundings. She was in a bit of a daze. She couldn't hear anything straight, only being able to make out a blurry shape that she could only assume was Swap. If she had enough of her mind pieced together to remember she was with Swap. She could still it, no doubt, but she didn't feel like it was.. hurting anymore? It was a complicated feeling; of both pain and of calm. She couldn't describe it. Maybe it was the magic..? Dammit, how should she know? She heard Swap's muffled voice, unable to make it out. "Swap?" she muttered. As soon as she did, a part of her brain snapped back. She couldn't hear what was happening in the outside world but all the deafening voices in her head were real. And loud. "Stop it.." She muttered aloud. "Stop it!" this time a bit louder.

He let his hands fall from her face and stood up to follow Stain. He scowled at his rival. “you did that to her didn’t you? heh. you’re gonna regret that.” His eye flamed a bright blue, small sparks electrifying the air.

Swap was not expecting the knife He managed to twist so it wouldn’t plant into his torso and instead ripped into the fabric of his suit, the very tip grazing his ribs. From the outside it looked to be a direct hit. He was about to make a move to dodge when he got an idea. He instead fell to his knees, grabbing at the knife’s hilt and putting on a pained expression.

She could hear all the voices yelling at her. They were all jumbled but she could make out a few words like "Swap." and "save him!" What were they.. talking about?
"Swap is in trouble!" "You have to go save him!" "Stain is going to kill him!" "You need to step in!" "You have an extra life- use it!"
All the voices were drilling into her, causing her head to ache. But what about my secret? She asked them.
"What matters more? Your god damn secret or his safety? People in love do crazy things, remember?" That was the last voice she expected to hear from. "Go on... It'll be fine."
She felt the voices become quieter and quieter, subsided and she could concentrate on the world around her again. And the first thing she was greeted by was the sight of Swap being impaled by Stain.
"S-Swap.." She muttered. "Swap!"

Swap glanced at Arial, his mind clouded with relief that she was talking again and worry for her wellbeing. He forced himself to ignore her. Even if that felt worse than any knife could have. The moment Stain got close, Swap summoned a razor sharp bone wall around them to limit space. He was always better close quarters anyway. He teleported behind Stain to dodge the attack, his magic flickering off for a moment at the sudden large amount of magic used. He had to end this quick or he would tire out.

Swap’s magic couldn’t stand up to TWO blasters. His legs gave out from under him and he felt to his knees for real this time. The bone barrier fell and his blaster was the last to vanish with a electric ZAP.
He couldn’t do it. After all his training, after everything he had been through. And he simply was too weak. He looked up at Stain in defeat. At least Arial would be ok.

Swap was able to see Arial's face a second before he was teleported away. Her expression made him realize just how much she cared for him. And how much he cared for her. He was filled with Determination.
As the knife stabbed through his back, Swap's HP dropped dramatically. But didn't drop to zero. His eyes went vacant and after a moment he started to laugh brokenly. "c-can't die that easily now can i? i-i have s-some t-to live f-for n-now." A light red glow started to surround his SOUL. "l-love's a crazy t-thing h-huh?"
( After this everything got really crazy and no one was able to figure out what was happening. We all kinda decided that Stain killed Swap but before he could dust Wrenne and Arial bring him back in the infirmary or something. Seriously it got crazy. )
