Hi, learn from my mistakes.

I backed into a car in the seven-eleven today. I was panicking, because I'm 18 and that's what you do in the first accident that involves someone else.

Here's what you do.

Get out and talk to the owners of whatever you've hit. Don't dash. If you're caught it will make more trouble inn the long run.

Exchange information. If it's a minor fender bender see if you can work something out without getting insurance involved, that way the claim won't raise your rates. (I tried to go back but they had already left.)

Take pictures. Document the damage by both parties. That way they can't claim damage you didn't do. (I didn't do this.)

Exchange info. I'll say it again bc I didn't so much as get these people's phone numbers. I said here's my licence and insurance info and didn't ask for anything in return. For the love of god, get their info. Phone numbers, insurance, drivers licence, plate number.

This shit is kinda scary, but don't panic and learn from your mistakes. I waited for the car to pull in behind me, and then didn't think about where it was parked. Hence I couldn't see over the bed of my truck and backed into them. So you can learn from me to be aware of your surroundings.

I'll add more as this progresses so you can know what to do if you do make these mistakes.
