aaaaAAAAAAA this thing is done!! It’s taken me a little bit to finish this, but huzzah!! Say hello to the Big Four, four dragons all notorious (whether that be for something good or bad) in the Tempest Spire!
This is actually a redraw of something I made in November 2020- And while I would have left it... literally almost all of their lore, designs, and uniforms have changed in the 7 months since then, so I felt an obligation to redo it! (Take all the lore on the original drawing with a grain of salt!)
send a defeated knight to Camelot to declare you and your lover and Sir Lancelot and Queen Guinevere are the only lovers in the land

Horned Serpent
The Horned Serpent house of Ilvermorny was created by the overall founder of the American wizarding school, Isolt. Interestingly enough, this house takes on several different shades of both the Slytherin and the Ravenclaw houses in its form.
For one, the house definitely promotes the scholar or the wizarding “mind.” This automatically makes us think of Ravenclaw. At the same time, the mascot of a snake as well as the founder’s innate ability to speak to mystical snakes takes us back to characteristics that we usually associate with Slytherin.
The reasoning behind this is that Isolt’s Ilvermorny house really focuses on the mind. Whereas Ravenclaw as a house focuses on wisdom, creativity, Horned Serpents are going to be so much more logic based in their pursuits of knowledge. Luna Lovegood, one of our favorite Ravenclaws, might not fit in at this house whereas Severus Snape very well might.
This is because Slytherins also use their mind in ways that logically suit their ambition. They can be blunt, ruthless and cunning--- characteristics that a Horned Serpent might also adopt.
There is also a lot of mystery that shrouds this particular Ilvermorny house-- so much more than any of the other American houses. In the story of its making, the creature named the Horned Serpent is one that Isolt keeps an absolute secret-- even from the ones she loves. We don’t really know why this is but this definitely adds to the overall aesthetic of the house.
A Horned Serpent student is likely one who loves a bit of mystery and prefers to keep things to themselves. They can spend hours on an imaginative project and never say a word until it’s final reveal. Horned Serpents to spend a lot of time analyzing data and looking for things to add to their intellect. A scholar, the Horned Serpent student, is devoted not only to learning but to the logic behind it. Whereas a Ravenclaw student might be messy and absentminded, Horned Serpents tend to be organized-- at least when it comes to their work.
Inquisitive and perpetually curious, Horned Serpents have no qualms about asking questions or seeking answers. Blunt and decisive, Horned Serpents are not necessarily the ones to go to for a shoulder to cry on but are excellent in giving reasoned out advice.
Much of the characteristics of Horned Serpents can be revealed through their founder, Isolt. Isolt was very brave and kind but she also kept secrets and pursued knowledge beyond her means. Most of her fearlessness was driven by a need to know and to understand. It is also Isolt’s love of learning, despite her own lack of schooling, that drove her to create the first American school for wizarding and witchcraft.
Another Harry Potter character that might fall into this category might honestly be Dumbledore. A wise but mysterious Gryffindor, Dumbledore tended seek out answers but keep quiet about them until the time was right. Shrouded in mystery, Dumbledore also sought out learning not only for himself but for his students, similarly to Isolt.

Say hello to the “Big Four” of the Cumulusrise Legion, one of the main organizations within the Tempest Spire. Considered to be influential, powerful, or otherwise well known, these four don’t exactly get along.
Rumors have been floating around lately that one of them happens to be shadetouched.. or worse. Of course, these are just rumors... right?
I couldn’t sleep until 4:30 am but I read 20 pages of swann’s way…. it has become so beautiful. I reached the Madeline scene and went past it
