Stupid internet is always down for either hours or days. I know for a fact there throttling my bandwidth. Keep it up and I might “hypothetically” crash you’re entire network... █☻█
Billing Issues with ISP
So today my internet bill skyrocketed unexpectedly. I called up my lovely ISP and they said I signed a 10-month contract with an introductory internet rate that would last 3 months. Luckily back in August when I signed the contract I asked for a photocopy of it. Turns out they mistakenly gave me a contract to sign that's 10 months and guarantees the rate for 12 months (the 10-month month length is for students and the contract goes monthly afterwards; the 12 month price is just an extra bonus, I suppose). Anyways the lower-level customer support was very confused, and her supervisor stepped in and said he'd have to do some hunting around for the actual contract I signed. Apparently my ISP does not keep very good records of contracts...I think I might report them to my state's consumer protection agency after this craziness. Nonetheless, I am waiting for a phone call to here that my account will be adjusted. If it isn't, I shall throw a shit fit.
Moral of the story: Always read a contract you sign, and always as for a photocopy of it.
fic: Risking a Paradox
Title: Risking a Paradox
Author: lastincurableromantic
Rating:Adult
Character Pairings: 12/Rose, 10/Rose
Summary: After the Twelfth Doctor sets the TARDIS on random, he and Clara end up in an unlikely place, the Powell Estate. Will the Doctor risk a paradox to see Rose one last time?
Catch up here:
Chapter Ten Rose entered the console room, freshly showered and wearing the clothes she had been in the park the previous day. The Time Rotor was already rising and falling which she knew meant they were already underway. She drew in a ragged breath. The twelfth Doctor was vigorously polishing the console with what looked like a handkerchief and didn't look up. Leaning against the doorway, she watched him for a few minutes. She knew he knew she was there, but instead of looking up he moved to polishing the railing, his back towards her as if he didn't want to accidentally see her. Typical Doctor behavior when trying to avoid something difficult, she thought with a pang. Always the same man. "I set the coordinates for the Powell Estate, half an hour after we left," he said eventually, more than a hint of the Scottish burr creeping into his voice that she knew he got when he was emotional. He still didn't look at her. "That should allow for enough time for the phone calls that you received to be made by them yet not be long enough for them to really worry about you or create a paradox from you being with me." "Doctor, I… I know I have to go back," she said, "but do I have to go back quite yet?" At that, he finally looked at her. "Oh, Rose, the longer you're with me the harder it will be for me to let you go." At the grief she heard in his voice, she pursed her lips and rushed to him, pulling him into her arms. His arms tightened around her and he buried his face in her hair. "Once you pick up Clara," she said into his shoulder, "I'm not going to see you again, am I?" He pulled away from her far enough to look deeply into her eyes. "You're going to be with me for a long, long time," he promised. "Just not this me." "I know," she said. "But I'm going to miss this you." "Rose Tyler, I'm gonna miss you too."

Today's little excitement: all the YoungWizards.com sites are down
In case anyone was trying to access YoungWizards.com, the Errantry Wiki, or the YW Forums: they're all nonfunctional at the moment due to a failure at our provider (the machine that houses their Drupal, MediaWiki and vBulletin databases has gone down).
The nice people at FutureQuest are working on resuscitating the poor thing at the moment.
More news as it becomes available...
ETA: All better now. Yay FutureQuest!
I hate Comcast. I hate Comcast so fucking much.
Dear Comcast,
Your service is so fucking shitty words cannot even describe the dumpster fire that is your bullshit Internet service. Netflix is barely watchable. Your service is constantly being interrupted for god only knows why. I am constantly having to restart your stupid fucking modem. Despite getting a "new" modem from your bullshit company our Internet crawls the fuck along like two snails fucking. Your service is bad and you should fucking feel bad. I shouldn't have to be constantly opening the network diagnostic to figure out why the fuck my shit won't load for no fucking reason. I still don't know why your service is so fucking shitty. Comcast's bullshit Internet is slow as fuck and crazy stupid expensive. Possibly the worst ISP in the fucking country. I hate you so much Comcast. We never had any of these problems with RCN. None of them. The very second another ISP becomes available we're dropping you. Seriously I hope you cry tonight Comcast. I hope you cry and feel like a failure. Because you are. You're a fucking failure as an ISP. Go straight to hell.
Love,
Cindy
