Before the war against Hamas in Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces were one of the most prepared militaries in the world for underground warfare. Items beyond security equipment are essential to the growth of the communities in Judea and Samaria. One essential item is a playground. Often times overlooked or taken for granted, a quality built playground ensures that the developmental and emotional needs of YESHA’s children are being met.

Playgrounds provide safe and secure areas for the children to play, as well as provide a communal location for families to intermingle. Each playground/park built by One Israel Fund in YESHA includes all necessary playground equipment as well as park benches and appropriate landscaping, allowing said parks to become a desired destination for the entire community. In addition, often times a significant expense is paid to clear the land.

One Israel Fund has provided upwards of 50 playgrounds to date throughout Israel; requests for new playgrounds arrive each week.

The occasion allowed for a vision of peace and prosperity to be outlined when Ambassador David Friedman laid out his alternative to the traditional “two-state solution” as described in his new book, One Jewish State.
