my other post was getting long in the tags there but ok while we’re decently sized for the land we’d be tiny in the ocean. fucking tuna? massive. a lotta fish are hundreds of pounds. the reason that things get so big in the ocean is that they dont have to worry about gravity.
they say that the blue whale is the largest biggest thing that’s ever lived, tho im not sure how it stacks up against some of the biggest trees or some fungus. i guess it depends if you’re measuring length, volume, or weight, or maybe something else. by area a fungus would win tho it’s very filamentous.
but yeah a blue whale? biggest thing ever lived? if i got my facts right that means bigger than the dinosaurs. and the biggest dinosaurs are already inconcievably big. tho if you want a real show you should look into prehistoric marine reptiles. check out “sea monsters- walking with dinosaurs”. the BEST stuff is in the ocean
i could do a whole biology geek thing about how the sea is the ideal place for life but mm basically ready source of water + easy reproduction + lack of gravity
