Hi! I was rereading chapter 17 when I noticed a difference between what you wrote there and in chapter 18 about the number of soldiers involved in the battle. In chapter 17 Seneca states he has just over three thousand men for his own. One of his soldiers for every three of Ephram’s, so that's nine thousand soldiers on Ephram's side and about twelve thousand men in total, but in chapter 18 he says he has a little over two thousand troops and Ephram has six thousand men, which, as he adds a bit later on, makes eight thousand soldiers in total. I'm not sure if it's a mistake, and if it is, it's honestly insignificant, but my annoying brain pointed it out and I can't unsee it now, so I thought I'd point it out to you too. Also, sidenote that has nothing to do with this: I love that you post the link for the updates on tumblr. I always feel far too smug about getting to read the next chapter before I even receive the notification email from ao3. Keep up the great work!

You know what is so annoying about this? I actually checked Chapter seventeen to se if I got the right number of soldiers on each side before I went and uploaded the new chapter. I read the three to one part and completely missed the 'just over three thousand men for his own'. It was right. there. One sentence before.

Ugh.

Thank you for pointing this out, I have gone back and updater chapter seventeen to fit chapter eighteen. Goddamn brain, I swear.
