   “Oh, he’s a perfect blend of them both. Unbelievably well read,” he smiled, not to her or himself but as if he were smiling at the boy in the photograph. “Almost obnoxiously so. Funny, maybe not deliberately; charming and bold. You’d... like him.”

   He said it with a kind of surprise, like a thought that, now considered, made so much sense it seemed absurd to voice it out loud.

I'm so mad about my book to be honest. But it's not the neighbor's fault, she didn't know it was a signed first edition.... Ughhh. She had her husband deliver it and he seemed sheepish too, so she must feel awful.
