Potentially mildly controversial Psych take: I think the amount that Shawn uses a gun in canon is actually a pretty good amount. I think if he used one more it would be kinda boring. The way it is now it’s like, “oh shit! Shawn has a gun! Some shit is about to get real!”

Besides that I think Shawn actually having easy access to a gun wouldn’t be a great plan because he may be a fantastic shot but he is not a discerning shot.

That being said more fanfic should have him get the opportunity because I am pretty sure it would make Lassie want to jump his bones, like, immediately.
