I gave Twitter a little preview of this extremely cursed idea I had yesterday, but I also love you, Tumblr, so you can have it too.

*taps mic* In a world where the Fold only heightened Grisha persecution, Alina knows her hidden powers are a death sentence. But when Grisha rebels led by the Darkling — a savior to them, a villain of lore to everyone else — discover her, it turns out they have other plans...

“Wait, what?” I sat up straighter in the bed, drawing the blankets up to my shoulders. “What are you doing? Don’t take your shirt off!”

“I told you. I have a task.” He did as I asked and stopped pulling at his shirt, although he did start unlacing his trousers, which was not better. I almost pulled the duvet over my head. “You’re a rare opportunity, Alina. Maybe one of you can’t take on the Fold, but if there were more—”

“More?” I squeaked.

“It’s not the most elegant solution,” Aleksander admitted. He sounded apologetic, at least. “It—I know that, Alina, I do. But we all want the same thing.”

“You mean the Darkling wants,” I realized aloud. “The Darkling’s put you up to this.”

He paused. “As I said,” he said slowly, “I am the strongest Grisha here. The theory is that my power combined with yours—”

“Oh, Saints, this is ridiculous. We’ve just had a fifteen-minute conversation! I’m not going to bed with you, much less having children with you.”
