Synopsis:
Every year, the lives of ten girls at Vienna High are transformed.
All because of the list.
Kenzie Summerall can't imagine how she's been voted onto a list of the hottest girls in school, but when she lands at number five, her average life becomes dazzling. Doors open to the best parties, new friends surround her, the cutest jock in school is after her.
This is the power of the list. If you're on it, your life changes.
If you're on it this year? Your life ends.
The girls on the list have started to die, one by one. Is it a coincidence? A curse? Or is the list in the hands of a killer?
Time is running out for Kenzie, but she’s determined to uncover the deadly secret of the list...before her number’s up.
Review:
Face palm, I would like to start this by saying maybe I am not the target market. But I think this is an insult to whatever target market they were trying to reach. I thought that this would be a thrilling paranormal story, but no. Do you know what was this thing that was killing the girls of this list? An assassin group. The killing of these girls? An initiation kill. This has been going on since the 80s, and every year a couple of girls, now women, are aware that they might die but damn isn't it convenient that this year all girls are dying and no one noticed or care? Besides this there is the love triangle, annoying best friend riding on the coat tails and is butt hurt that her visibly upset best friend can't tell her whats going on, mysterious bad boy with all the answers, and dead brother's accident not being an accident subplot. (That was a run on sentence and I don't care.) Which are all lack luster. I expected more from this book AND I WAS DISAPPOINTED AND ANGRY. I expected a paranormal thriller where the spirit of a rejected girl came back like some real Carrie stuff. But nope its a secret assassin cult who speak Latin and our protagonist happens to speak Latin. Again face palm and I won't read the sequel they left an opening for either.
