literally gonna cry. stranger things 4, it prequel, umbrella academy season 3, AND barry season 3?!?!! some of my all time fave shows/movies all coming out around the same time 😭

they’re coming out with a prequel for realsies and i’m terrified for how bad this can go. especially considering how they already fucked up half the lore in the new movies. plus this quote in an article, not really getting me excited. either way i’m sorry to my friends for the person i will become weather it’s good or bad

Normally I don’t give commentary at all, but I feel like I wanna talk about the new IT prequel show, Welcome To Derry.

I see that people have mixed feelings about it, and that’s totally fine. I personally am rather excited to see where this goes!

This upcoming show could go down in plenty of different ways, but I just wanna tell y’all what I personally hope happens in it.

I would love if it goes back in time to different past events in Derry’s history, such as the Bradley Gang shootout, the black spot being burnt down (and hopefully see Dick Hallorann during that time), and maybe the Easter Day explosion.

I dunno how many episodes or seasons there would be, but however many there are, I hope that from the first to the last episode, it goes from the latest to the most recent events. Like, the fist episode would start with IT’s first encounters with the human species, then sometime in the middle, IT will get inspiration to transform into a clown, then the last episode would be near the time when IT killed Georgie.

I think the series should not have a consistent main character. What I mean by that is that I think each episode should be a different timeline, with different human characters, even if said characters are destined to either die, or be scarred for life. Like a “Love, Death, and Robots” sort of story telling.

Another thing I’d like to see in the show is more commentary and inner thoughts from IT the creature. I’d also like to see even more “personality” from the creature. Not to “humanize” IT of course, but I like a monster with personality. This is more of IT’s story after all.

I’d also really like if there’s a narrator throughout each episode, and said narrator would be Mike Hanlon. It would make sense because he’s the one who stayed behind and did his research. He could be the guide through the stories. Kind of like a “What If…?” Episode from Marvel, except everything he talks about actually happened. I also just love Mike and want to see more of him. Maybe that way we could still get our fix of the losers club in the show!

Anyway, I’d like to hear other people’s thoughts on this!
