gold and silver live on the edge of goldenrod partly bc thats where the original daycare is located and partly bc the global trading center is located on the docks of goldenrod -basically, its the epicentre of both their jobs (tho in gold’s case the house is partly a nursery so he works from home)

its more on the edge and not in the city so they can have space, have a wide open yard without being crammed by the non-space of goldenrod and all that, but its definitely close enough that walking isn’t a problem

nad’s drakloak substitutes a dreepy on its head for shuppet, which eventually helps cure shuppet of some of its timidness -at this point it rly isnt necessary anymore, since drakloak would tear to shreds whatever scared it
