For someone who basically told supergirl she doesn't give anyone second chances, Lena is a very forgiving person. She forgave Rhea the first time after she lied about being an alien, she kinda forgave Lillian for everything she's done, she kinda forgave Lex for everything he's done and after he tried to kill her several times. She forgave James for thanksgiving. Clark for doubting her in episode 1. She seems to be somehow okay with Supergirl now. I wouldn't be surprised if she forgave Eve!
I feel like I’ve done a rant about this before, but I’m not even going to try to find it now, so here goes nothing:
Lena presents herself as cold and as calculating as every Luthor who’s come before her, and yet demonstrates time and time again that she’s anything but. Despite the front she puts up, she is deeply affected by everything and is a sponge for negativity.
Giving people the benefit of the doubt, giving those second chances, and trusting the good in people is definitely in line with that characterization.
It’s the defining trait that separates her from the Luthor identity, which makes it all the more tragic every time it proceeds to bite her in the ass.
