Ephesians 6:7 (NLT) - Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
For someone who basically told supergirl she doesn't give anyone second chances, Lena is a very forgiving person. She forgave Rhea the first time after she lied about being an alien, she kinda forgave Lillian for everything she's done, she kinda forgave Lex for everything he's done and after he tried to kill her several times. She forgave James for thanksgiving. Clark for doubting her in episode 1. She seems to be somehow okay with Supergirl now. I wouldn't be surprised if she forgave Eve!
I feel like I’ve done a rant about this before, but I’m not even going to try to find it now, so here goes nothing:
Lena presents herself as cold and as calculating as every Luthor who’s come before her, and yet demonstrates time and time again that she’s anything but. Despite the front she puts up, she is deeply affected by everything and is a sponge for negativity.
Giving people the benefit of the doubt, giving those second chances, and trusting the good in people is definitely in line with that characterization.
It’s the defining trait that separates her from the Luthor identity, which makes it all the more tragic every time it proceeds to bite her in the ass.
also if any of you go off again about how “new years are a social construct so i think it’s ridiculous/naive to consider anything about this worthwhile” i will personally come to your house and take your computer away. social constructs are (essentially everything and also) not inherently bad and a baseless negative critique does nothing but prove you’re an asshole. you literally can’t reply to this without using a social construct with positive power and nuance. shut up. you’re not enlightened.
Is there a functional difference between "loses defender" and "can attack as though it didn't have defender"?
If a creature loses defender, then it no longer has defender and won’t benefit from anything that looks for creatures with defender, such as Vent Sentinel or Overgrown Battlement.
A creature that can attack as though it didn’t have defender still has defender, but it can attack as though it didn’t while still benefitting from all of the things I mentioned above.

With Vizier of the Menagerie, "you may spend mana as though it were mana of any type to cast creature spells." Does that allow you to call out the colors you need to cast Converge creatures like Skyrider Elf or Woodland Wanderer? Thanks!
Vizier of the Menagerie lets you spend mana to cast creature spells as though it were any type (color or colorless), yes, but spending mana “as though” it were some color only matters for paying costs and isn’t considered for effects like converge. Skyrider Elf knows what colors of mana were actually spent to cast it, and the converge ability will only have it enter the battlefield with that number of counters.
For example, when you spend two green mana and three colorless mana to cast Skyrider Elf spending it as though it were WUBRG instead of CCCGG with Vizier of Menagerie, Skyrider Elf will enter the battlefield with only one +1/+1 counter on it since only one color of mana was actually spent to cast it.
