New York [York = city in England]
New Jersey [Jersey = place/island between France and the UK]
New Orleans [Orléans = city in France]
New Braunfels [Braunfels = town in Germany]
New Bedford [Bedford = town in England]
New Rochelle [La Rochelle = city in France]
New Britain [Britain = just an entire country]
you get the gist, just look up any town/city in America starting with “new” without the new and you get a place in Europe.

can yall for once please just acknowledge that jin and namjoon are good dancers... i know they mean well but every single time the best comments people can offer are only ever "they've improved! they've become better!" and i agree! they absolutely do improve every single comeback because some fans still won't give them the credit of being good dancers capable of keeping up with the rest of the team despite them having done so for the past 7 years. but for once, can we please, please just acknowledge that they did well or that they executed a certain move or choreo impressively and leave it there. i know it's all good intentions but after all these years of teasing it just sounds so back-handed
Brendan was a victim of abuse as well? James pimped Harry out for sex and paid him for sex and admitted he abused Harry like he been abused by his dad? because he wanted Harry to rely on him? etc I can see some similarities between them both epic loves/with great chemistry and both toxic relationship/with 2 damaged people in the pairings, james has also lashed out at harry verbally and exposed the baby swap all to hurt harry etc
Yes, they were both abuse victims BUT that doesn’t mean that they’re the same and it’s really toxic to lump all abuse victims into the same category? The big thing about James and Brendan is what they let the abuse turn them into. Brendan, the abuse led to him hating himself and him hurting the people he loves. James, the abuse made him cut himself off the world, refuse to let anyone in. There’s a big difference between letting it turn you spiteful and insecure and letting it turn you into an abuser who physically hurts the people you love. Aside from the fact that their abuse shaped who they are, there really isn’t too many similarities because of the way they both let it shape them.
Also, comparing Brendan’s abuse of Ste to how James has treated Harry??? It’s not even remotely the same. James has never purposefully tried to hurt him (yes, he exposed the Dee thing and was going to expose the affair but that was because he was feeling used by Harry and sick of the hiding and actually getting it out in the open would’ve been less painful than in the long run?). He has nearly always protected Harry and treated him well; the vast majority of the time he’s literally the only one on Harry’s side. Him being Harry’s “pimp,” calling that abuse on the same scale as Stendan abuse is just an insult to anyone that’s ever been abused. Harry was being beaten by his clients, James was trying to get him to stop prostitution and he wouldn’t. So to keep him off the streets and stop the abuse from strangers, James set him up with clients he knew he’d be safe with. Is it gross and awful? Yes. Is it abuse on the same scale? No. Harry had a choice the entire time; he chose to continue the prostitution and to not accept help otherwise. Ste never had a choice when Brendan beat him or controlled him.
And the fact that they have James acknowledging what he did to Harry, the fact that he sees it as abuse on the same scale as what his father did to him even though it’s not, that says a lot about James and his character. He’s constantly portrayed as this “villain” but he shows a lot of remorse, a lot of reflection on his own actions and how damaging they were to Harry. So on that same line, the idea that Jarry is as toxic as Stendan was (or almost any of the other couples on the show is ridiculous to me. Was it toxic for a little while? Yes, and mainly because James was madly in love with Harry and Harry was always denying his own feelings for him. But now and the future? If anything, Jarry is the least toxic relationship Harry has.
Because yes, Finn a child kidnapped and then forced to be a child soldier is the same thing as Kylo Ren at the age of 23/24 finding out Darth Vader was his granddaddy and throwing the equivalent of an adult temper tantrum is the same thing.
Shklance is NOT the same as Shance!
When I go to read Shance fics on ao3 I don’t want to see the tags: Lance/Shiro, Shiro/Keith, Keith/Lance for a Shklance fic. I understand why you would tag them as separate pairings but they are an OT3. They are polyamory. Just tag it as Shklance (Voltron), Shiro/Lance/Keith. Even on Tumblr. If you are concerned about the amount of readers or views your story or art will get, I can assure you, there is nothing to worry about. Please, please, please, be considerate when tagging!
