So.. this is a picture of my cat, Claudia.. She’s 5 years old, and mixed-Persian. She also broke her back when she was a year old, her tail is completely paralysed, other than that she’s perfectly healthy.
This morning I when I woke up she was on my bed, nothing unusual there, but when she jumped off there was a rattling sound. Which I thought was a bit weird, but maybe she had something caught in her tail, which happens sometimes because she can’t feel it.
Whatever it was it didn’t seem to be bothering her, so I left it. When I got up, she was outside my door on the landing, there’s a small space where she likes to sit, the building was altered to move the bedroom door, which provides her a perfect hiding place when there are guests in the house.
I stroked her head, because who can resist a cat? That’s when I found it, something on her neck. I thought it was matted fur, because she’s shedding, and it tends to matt. The picture above is her short summer coat.
But it was blue.
A collar, with a bell.
And a small container.
Which was a little odd, since my cat doesn’t wear a collar. I had a cat who wore a collar until one time he went out and... well, it got nasty.. He lived until he was 17, but after that none of my cats have worn collars. So to find one on my cat now. Knowing I didn’t put it there..
I was a little confused.
The container, I didn’t know that’s what it was at first, but it looked like it opened so I decided to try it. Inside was a balled up bit of paper. It must have taken a lot of effort to get it in there, So I unrolled it..
And it was a note:
“Hello.I think your cat is injured + needs the vet. Lump in hip area.”
My cat doesn’t like strangers. She hides when my sister brings her kids round. She wouldn’t have willingly gone up to a stranger. Never mind let them put a collar on her. Or try to examine her.
Someone caught my cat. Decided the matted fur on her back is a serious medical condition, somehow missing the broken back and paralysed tail and put a collar on her to send a note.
