anyway my final thoughts on Ky'veza ?? are that, while she was very much what Blizzard advertised with the concept of Nemesis ?? — this sort of soulsborne, unfathomable challenge, personal mythic raid boss — there were two rather major issues with it.
This is an online game and players have ping. Her timings would be acceptable in an offline game where everything is being run on the computer/console/whatever, but World of Warcraft is a game with a lot of communication between server and client, and with how tight her timings are even mild latency is legitimately a huge killer.
Last night, I was at 100-112ms latency because the weather was yucky, and let me tell you: the amount of times I died staring right at the Dark Massacre, or to a nexus dagger I wasn't in the line of, was staggering. 60-73ms latency, by comparison, had very few incidents of the same. One or two, across a few dozen pulls. Certainly not '2/3 pulls ends because something just didn't register serverside in time' frequency. Players on even higher ping can even suffer from this fun thing called 'the game never registers that you moved out of the very first nexus dagger.'
2 — A Complete Lack of Visual Clarity
This is actually twofold,
One, the fight itself is severely lacking. Everything is dark, all colors are heavily saturated, and value differences are, well, we'll get to those later.
You have to modify your graphics settings just to get outlines on the Dark Massacre phantoms, but they're red on black, and, frankly... that's not a good combination for visual clarity. It's okay for me, though I personally find red has the second lowest contrast against black of any basic full brightness full saturation color beat out only by indigo, but I've seen a fair number of complaints from colorblind individuals that it might as well not exist for them because they can't see the red-on-black-on-dark outline situation at all.
Maybe for people without any visual challenges it's perfectly good and fine, but... not for people like me.
(Brann's potions being red also set you up for some amount of red fatigue, because red doesn't = dead, and if you're not wired to grab potions as soon as they drop you'll usually have some spots of red hanging around on-screen)
((the fairly bright center arena vs. extremely dark occluded outer arena also set you up for visual fatigue. It looks great the first couple of times but by the end of the first hour of pulls hoooooooo boy))
So let's get onto value differences! All those bright pops of colors on the dark background, signalling a mechanic is incoming..!
Or maybe it's just the second matter of lacking visual clarity: it may be your own spell effects. Or Brann's bullshit. I think I played Invoke the Shadows with Brann's giant fucking titan relic on my screen more times than I didn't. Sometimes, he hides the Dark Massacre under it.
You can mess around with your settings some more to try and ameliorate it, but a lot of Brann's stuff and certain classes abilities just clog up the entire screen when you really need to be seeing and there's not a whole lot you can modify in your settings to make them stop happening.
'Change your graphic settings' isn't a solution to the fact that the fight should be doable without having to alter a ton of settings just so you can see.
3 — wait no one more thought
The lack of default audio alerts on the fight is ridiculous. I presume her voice actress was part of the SAG-AFTRA strike and that is why Ky'veza lacks VO in 11.2, and I fully agree with not recasting her and just letting Ky'veza go without VO for now if the intention is for her to return with her original VA, but, c'mon. Do something for audio alerts. Make Brann's abominable ass even chattier or something.
Even I, hater of gameplay addons, had to make myself a weakaura pack just so I'd have audio alerts because those grab you a lot faster than whatever else is going on on-screen.
