BTW, I watched 811 for the first time yesterday (I had only seen Tommy's scenes) and I'm sorry but there's no fucking way this episode was written with the intention of closing Buck and Tommy up because the parallels between the two plots are so fucking on the nose.

So the 118 goes to attend a carbon monoxide poisoning at a megachurch, where Bobby meets his mom and brother after years of not talking to them.

Athena and Charlie think the universe, or in this case God, meddled to get them together so they could talk.

On the other hand, Buck is feeling lonely after Eddie left for Texas, so he invites Ravi for drinks. And, coincidentally, Tommy is at the same bar.

Charlie tells Bobby that he thought about reaching out so many times, but he wasn't sure Bobby wanted to hear from him.

Tommy admits he had to fight the urge to call Buck, because he was afraid Buck wouldn't want to talk to him.

Bobby accepts to have dinner with his mom and his brother, but they have a fight about Bobby's dad and her leaving them and then Bobby says she's a failure as a mother and he doesn't care about her, words he later regrets.

Buck invites Tommy to his place and they hook up. The next morning Tommy says he wants to try again, but they have a fight about Eddie and Buck insinuates he doesn't have feelings for Tommy, words he later regrets.

So Bobby knows he needs to apologize and goes to see his mom, but then she collapses and he learns she's sick.

Buck talks to Maddie, and tells her he knows he screwed up with Tommy and that he needs to call him and apologize.

And in case it wasn't clear the first time:

The universe facilitated a reunion between Bobby and his mom so they could reconcile. The same episode Buck and Tommy also met by chance.

So Bobby and his mom do reconcile, and both finally say to the other how much they love and missed each other.

So what are we doing here, Tim? Why are Buck and Tommy still not back together when the set-up is already there? Waiting for that NDE, then? Knowing him and this show, probably.

I also have some thoughts about the other subplot of leaving toxic relationships, but I'm gonna keep those to myself because I value my well-being, lol.
