@jadoreelise both these shows are propaganda and any media that feeds into terrible stereotypes or an ideal utopia where a specific group of people are eternally enslaved because they’re “inferior” or a group of people no longer exist (”glad those pests are dealt with”), they allow people outside of those groups (in this case non-black and non-jewish) to continue to believe and/or be more open in believing that kind of thinking is ok and right. propaganda works and incites violence. it’s what helped put the nazi party in power and then some. it’s what helped the russian revolution. also, genuine question, did you forget when amazon was promoting man in high castle they plastered the entire interior of a new york subway train with nazi flag posters? new york city, which has an extremely heavy jewish population. the instant fear when their vision was bombarded with swastikas and the subsequent outrage at amazon was more than understandable.
but if you’re trying to ask me this question on a personal level, i’m not answering that to a stranger on the internet.
so short answer: these shows are negative propaganda that will, and probably already do, incite more violence and allow hateful people to be more open about their bigotry.
