It's a shitty situation all round, little :( I'm so sorry this has been such an ongoing, awful and stressful situation for so long. From the sounds of it, he would probably do better in a rehab facility, where he'll have other patients in a similar situation so he realises he isn't the only person going through this, instead of rotting away at home alone in bed. Does the rehab facility have any kind of counselling or therapy service he could talk to?
Here is the thing, he was in a rehab facility for three months and it was going well until his wound was making trouble. We have to let this thing heal before it gets serious, that is totally a thing.
What gets to me though is that he barely tried to get up even there, even once he could use the wheelchair. He is very... passive.
We tried counseling. They sent a psychologist to him and he refuses to take the help. "Been there, done that" kind of stuff.
I actually think it would do him GOOD to come home to heal his wound, but I have work and I can't be there for him 24/7, so there is something that needs to work and that is the stupid using of the toilet chair without help and getting back into bed.
That is literally the only thing that he needs to do on his own. Then his wounds can heal and he can finally get his skin transplant and then finally go into rehab for good.
Stuff is very complicated at the moment... I will talk to him and try to get him to do as much as he can. I tried out some things and as I see it, with more arm strength he would be a lot more mobile.
