I was gonna leave "do you every shut up" up there, but decided I want my blog to have happiness and sunshine on this bright and sunny Sunday. :D Also good morning and hi and thank you, I will try to nevery shut up completely.
Scotty leaned back in his seat, almost hoping Lydia's voice would turn into comfortable background noise. No dice.
"Scott this is insane. Are you even listening to me? You have Grey worried, GREY, I didn't even think she could do that about anyone other than Ember." She leaned over the table, around half a foot taller than him, she looked down at Scott, eyes filled with concern and remorse. "Scotty I... I can't lose you too."
Scott started to lean forward, thinking of a snappy comeback before stopping himself. Wasn't the time or place, he could see how hurt she was over this. "Lydia I've made up my mind. This isn't like 23 where I'm chasing a dream based on delusional hatred. Mikhailov is a monster who will keep killing innocent people on her search for immortality unless someone puts her down." He spoke with certainty, putting his hands flat on the table and looking her dead in the eyes.
"I know you're worried, but no one else can do this. My luck..." He paused, looking down at his hands as he raised them from the table. "For some reason despite how terrible the Van Helsing family luck is, I keep getting bread crumbs to find her. Like I'm fated to see this to the end."
Lydia slammed a fist down onto the table, her hand shaking. "Don't you realize how stupid that sounds!? If your luck is leading you to Mikhailov, then don't you think this is just going to lead you to ruin!?" She paused for a moment, before catching herself. "I didn't mean to insult you I just... How do you not realize how ridiculous that sounds?"
She made a good point, such a good one that he had already thought of it before. He let the moment sit, taking a few deep breaths as Lydia stared expectantly at him. "Lydia I know. I'm not an idiot, the only time things conveniently panned out for me was when I was walking into the jaws of hell." He slid the chair out and stood, beginning to walk to the door. "Can't let that monster live though. She'll make another 23, she'll start another war," he said, setting his hand on the doorknob and turning his head to catch a glance at Lydia before opening the door, "she'll kill again and again until she's in the damned ground."
P R E S E N T D A Y
Scotty turned the radio off as he stood in the middle of the meadow, facing northwest as that seemed to be where it was coming from. He didn't see anything, it was quiet. Scotty had hoped he would see something, anything when the UL approached, movement in the grass at the very least, but he saw nothing.
In a split second, the ground beneath his feet broke as something thudded against the large rock that was conveniently just a few inches beneath the soil he stood on. He dashed away just as the soil just a foot away from him burst up, a squid-like appendage bursting from the ground and swinging at him.
Scott took aim at the tentacle adjacent limb sprouting from the ground after regaining his footing, but he didn't shoot. This would only piss it off if he let loose now, and he had to count his shots.
He watched as another one burst from the ground in front of him lashing toward him but only nicking his right pant leg and leaving him unharmed out of pure luck. Scott stepped away by a few feet, getting a good look. It had sharp barbs along the underside, made to grab prey and slice it.
The man squinted, no tools, five shots, and no clue where the rest of the beast was, he took a chance and took a shot. The 9mm buckshot took a massive chunk out of the limb, blood and puss spewed from its insides, the flesh of the creature looked odd, less like functional muscles and closer to a mishmash of random parts. It was like something that knew nothing about anatomy tried to build a squid or octopus.
It began to slide down into the ground, convulsing as it moved, the ground shifted as it pulled back. Scott was on the hunt now, running after the shifting soil. If he was right, it was going back to its main body somewhere in the forest ahead.
As he ran, the soil stopped shifting eventually, as though the tentacle went deeper. "Little shit got smart..." He put a hand on the nearest tree, pausing to catch his breath.
Lyn poked her head around the tree, whistling in a mock impressed tone. "Well, at least you got a direction now, check your map, you might be able to triangulate where it's hiding."
He reached down to his right pocket where he had absentmindedly stuffed the map when Schafer had startled him. Scott's hand went down and straight through his pocket, poking out the new hole in his pant leg that his prey had so kindly cut for him.
Lyn leaned down to look at it, chuckling slightly. "Yikes, that's pretty unlucky."
with all the PR and all that is leading us to believe Buddie is going canon, it got my hopes up for other shows where I know my hopes should be on the ground if not lower
Like the same day I get a 911 post looking like a captcha test, where Hen and Chimney have a picture with their wives and then Buck has a picture with Eddie... Which like... Kinda sus in a good way
But then Netflix comes in and have a post about OBX S4 and it was a bunch of shots from the new season. Except on the Netflix account there are 5 pictures while on the OBX official account there are 7. Netflix official account took out the shots of JJ&Kiara and of Cleo&Pope and now I'm like hmmmm what a weird choice? Why cut those two pictures? 7 pictures isn't that bad they could have put all the seven pics.
But the thing is it's Netflix, it's OBX I KNOW there's no hope for Canon JJPope (do they have another shipname pls say yes) but the Buddie brainrot made it seem like it was sign (in my head only but still)
Like why did Netflix give the Tommy Kinnard treatment to these couples' pictures? Help I'm having hope😔
Ingrid and (gasp) Felix; Training near each other? Preferably school phase but whatever inspires you is fine!

As much as Felix tried to lose himself in the rhythm of moving through positions and stances, there was no ignoring the fact that he was being watched. Ingrid had begun by watching him out of the corner of her eye as she practiced strikes against a training dummy on the other side of the training grounds. Then she started shooting him indecipherable looks. And now she was just blatantly staring a little ways away.
With a grunt of annoyance, Felix spun and pointed his wooden sword at her. “If you need something, out with it!”
Ingrid’s stare hardened as she frowned. “Can I say something without you getting mad at me?”
“Not likely.”
“Fine.” Ingrid pointed at Felix’s feet with her lance. “You boots look awful.”
Felix looked down. The tips were scuffed, the laces frayed, and the heels had rocks in them. His boots didn’t look immaculate, no, but they were hardly awful, in his opinion. “So?” He pressed.
Ingrid rolled her eyes. “So you can’t fight in those.”
“I don’t. These are my training boots.”
“But you keep having to shift your form to accommodate them! That means you’re not practicing the balance you’ll actually need in battle. All you’re doing is practicing how to fight in these boots.”
Well. When put that way, Felix had a hard time continuing the argument. “They’re just shoes,” he protested weakly, turning his ankle to further appraise the boots. He hadn’t thought much about them but using faulty equipment was hardly his style. Weapons he kept in good shape-- everything else felt less important by comparison.
A clatter made him look up. Ingrid had dropped her lance onto the weapon rack. “Come on,” she said, jerking her head towards the doors of the training grounds. “Let’s go into town before the shops close for lunch.”
“You don’t have to babysit me,” Felix said even as he hung his sword back in place. “I can buy shoes on my own.”
“This is the only way I’ll know you actually bought new ones.”
“So now you’re saying I have bad form and you don’t trust me?”
Ingrid put her hand on her hips and fixed him with a scowl. “We either go into town together, or we stay here so I can lecture you more. Your choice.”
Grumbling, unable to think of a good reason to refuse, Felix met her at the doors. Ingrid smiled and led the way out. “I get new boots, you get new gloves,” Felix snapped.
Instead of putting up a fight, Ingrid merely smiled wider. “Good idea. I will let you recommend a pair.” Felix sighed but found himself smiling anyway as the pair walked down the bath towards the front gates of Garreg Mach. Being forced away from training was never fun, but a day out with a good friend almost made it worthwhile.
