I've seen people considering the images of wheat in DRAAG cinematography a product of Gerard liking wheat. And sure, that may be part of it. But there's a very real connection between wheat and fascism that many MCR fans, being American, may not know about.
La Battaglia del grano (literally "the battle for wheat"), immediately comes to mind. It was a massive effort to increase the national wheat production and, as everything in Fascist Italy, it involved a lot of propaganda.
Here's some propaganda posters for la battaglia del grano [source]:
I find this image from a LLTBP concert to be particularly relevant:
Fascism comes from the Italian term "fascio", which means "bundle". The reasons why this came to be are long to explain. Part of it has to do with weaponry from Ancient Rome, and part of it has to do with Mussolini wanting his party's name to evoke a feeling of unity. This is a bit of an oversimplification so you guys can get the gist of where I'm going: a bundle of wheat is extremely strong fascist imagery.
I absolutely love all the research and care that went into the details of this tour.

Oh my god I saw someone commenting "is there a heist?!?" under a video of people singing Bella Ciao in the streets of Milan. I actually need to find the person that decided to use the song in Money Heist/La Casa de Papel and murder them
