“But killing me won't bring her back. And I can't help you if I'm dead.”
We need to get out of here now!
Too Late
Into the badlands 2x10 thoughts now that the anger has gone away... a little.
Starting off with Odessa. I hope she doesn't backstab Mk again. If her and Tilda get together I'm fine with that but she should try to understand Tilda and Mk's friendship. Tilda has forgiven Mk because she understands he couldn't control it. More than fear I think Odessa is blinded by jealousy. Probably thinking Tilda will be snatched away by MK but he already let her go when she stated she found a new "Friend".
The widow. You did not want a world of barons so why are you offering waldo the position of one. How would he teach someone to be free? It comes off as if you are just controlling them. And also she should at least hear Bajie out. I figure he would tell her the truth about what happened when he couldn't find her. If he didn't care about her he would still have his gift.
That Quinn and Lydia moment. That made me love Lydia because she's over him now. She was ready to tell his men the truth. Even though it was a failed attempt she had guts. She looked the man she once loved in the eye and literally told him she cant wait to see him die by Sunny's sword.
Declan was the closest to Quinn so why were they showing some other guy at some point and made Declan return the last episode to be killed?
The first bomb scene was okay but why didn't they pull out Sunny's body right away? That part I don't understand.
I loved how Waldo helped Tilda. He's just unconsciously becoming a father figure to these regents.
I loved the fight scenes with Sunny and Bajie. It was hard core and interesting. Too bad Bajie got injured.
Now....This part. The ending.
After all those stabs Quinn didn't die how? Im not leaving Sunny out he got hurt too. His clothes are leather right so I guess the arrows wouldn't go in so deep but he did get cut by Quinns sword. Quinn got these deep stabs about twice I think and then thrown off from somewhere. He should be dead. And for them to not hear him wasn't he groaning?
With Quinn I think the writers underestimated how fans would like his character and at some point gave up on the tumor plot. He had until winter to live. Im quite sure that's why the theme is snow all over the place. Those two things not being connected in season two show they wanted to give up on the tumor plot. Probably figured they just needed to mention the tumor a little and people wont worry about it. That's crap.
Also with this ending after Lydia told Quinn she would be there when he dies in an earlier episode I was expecting for her to show up at the last moment. Her dying with Quinn made more sense because she was saying all along she'd be there. Then when its over she can be with her son because she has nowhere else to go.
This Veil destiny thing the writer stated I don't acknowledge. If Veil had died in some other situation I would accept it but she just died after all that torture? From one stab? While others walking around like they from hancock. We saw her being ordered, crying. forced into bed, taken away from her son, be threatened and her killing Quinn to only die after all that is her destiny. She deserved a better death. Not saying they had to make her live to season 4 or 7 but after all that crap really? You made her a damsel. Her character did not grow. And you killed the best doctor in the badlands.
Bajie needs to be more honest with everyone. He's probably a good guy but he has too many secrets.
The writers better come out and say "Ha we trolled you. That's an alternate ending."
The guys came for martial arts. Girls came for the ship, martial arts and everything else. To kill off what we loved. If views drop seriously I am not defending this show.
I will watch this show for Henry, Sunny and their crew but not as excited as I was before this. It will take time. If they bring in another love interest, looking at Daniel Wu wouldn't make me watch this show. Not worth it.
I'll watch season 3 but not with the same excitement I had in season 1 and 2.
I’m wondering if Quinn’s obsession with Veil and Sunny’s baby would be as intense if Henry had been Henrietta. It might have been a more interesting story if it had been a female child since Quinn is so male centric. Just my little quirk of an observation.
Veil, whatever you’re doing, do it quickly. You have got to get away from that group of sycophants. Quinn’s megalomania, whether from his tumor or whatever poison she’s giving him, is going to put her and Henry in serious danger. Well, maybe just Veil because Quinn needs a new “son” and heir now.
Poor Ryder, didn’t much care for you but what a shitty way to go.
I’m totally into The Widow and whatever her backstory is. So far we know she was like MK, but probably cleansed a la Tate, and by the time she was 13 she was a cog. Does that mean the monks just toss the kids out to fend for themselves after they’re cleansed? That would be messed up if so.
I find it also interesting to compare The Widow and Jade’s ascensions to Baron-hood. Both cogs, yet one’s experience was so horrific she’ll do anything to tear down the system, while the other embraces it. And of course, Baron Chau and her perspective on the system. Three very different women who have all risen to the top in very different ways.
Now, Tilda and Odessa. I think they’ve done a good job from that very first scene together creating a nice connection between them. It looks like it’ll be another complex relationship like others on the show. I’m a bit worried about Odessa’s motives and with her history, she might manipulate Tilda for her own benefit. But there was one moment in their scene last night were Odessa actually looked a little, I don’t know, in awe of Tilda. So I’m conflicted. I can see that Odessa may end up coming between Tilda and The Widow especially if The Widow compromises in some way, maybe through Waldo’s council, that Odessa sees as a betrayal to the cause.
Next week, another episode that looks like it’ll be really good. Sunny and Bajie making their way, slowly, to the badlands. I’m looking forward to Lydia going after Quinn. Hopefully there will be some interesting Widow/Chau interactions. Although, there are so many different stories on this show each episode one seems to suffer. Sorry to say, MK seems so removed from the interesting storylines, they need to bring him back to the badlands and soon. And, bring on the Tilda/Odessa!
SOOOOOO
Did that just tell us Bajie has the gift and that was picking up on it??
You don't know the first thing about me, son.
