2024 Art Summary! Aka the year of Monster Girls and fan art!
Decided towards the end to take it easier with the art output and it really helped me relax a bit more.
Thank you to everyone who’s been following my art journey so far and all the new friends!
Here’s to another year of art!
What’s the WORST/most unpleasant place to get an itch?
that one spot on your back
bottom of the heel
inside your nose
inside your mouth
asscrack/butthole
genital region
other/im bald/I love itches actually
I had another question come to mind if that’s okay! You mentioned that the presence of another person's vård can also be felt as an itch elsewhere other than a person’s nose, and that made me think of something my grandma always used to say about if your left hand itched, that meant you were about to lose something (often money), but if your right hand itched, that meant you were going to gain something. I’ve wondered where she picked this up from (I can’t ask anymore as she’s no longer around, but I’ve wondered, like the nose itching/vård ask I sent, if maybe she picked it up from her father from Norway)…does this sound familiar to any folk beliefs over there and would it be related to the vård? And is there anything about the left side/right side of the body that represents giving/losing something or gaining/receiving something? Thank you very much for everything!
I don't know the origin of these beliefs, but Scandinavian/Nordic culture has a thing for itches. Itches (in different parts of the body) can mean lots of things:
Hand (unspecified): sensing someone's vård
Left hand: lose money
Right hand: gain money OR receive a letter
Palm of the hand: you will gain something
Nose (unspecified): expect annoyance
On the nose: someone's talking shit about you OR someone who likes/loves you is thinking about you
Inside of the nose: sensing someone's vård
Under the nose (of a woman): someone with a mustache is thinking of her
Eye (unspecified) : you will soon have reason to cry
Right eye: sorrow
Left eye: happiness
Chin: you'll get mad at a man
Under the foot: someone will visit you soon
Right foot: the guest is a man
Left foot: the guest is a woman
Toes: the guest is nearby
Heel: the guest is far away
Left ankle: same as left hand
Right ankle: same as right hand
Knee or elbow: you're a whore
Some of these are incredibly local, and many of them have almost been forgotten. (This list is incomplete btw.) I think there are similar beliefs in other cultures.
Me: *tries to chill*
All but one mosquito bites: *start itching at once*
Me: *dies*
