I have been playing with ideas for new ammo in the Ithaca 37. By 2019, California is adopting a Statewide ban on all lead ammo when hunting or taking game. California has already implemented this lead free transition on much of the legal taking of many species already, however, some species like quail, have until 2019 to comply. Steel shot is not a great option for my old vintage Ithaca, so I am looking to try out some other options like Bismuth. It is pricey, but is very similar to lead and seems to be vintage barrel-friendly. My goal is to keep this old gun in the field for as long as possible. Has your State implemented any bans on lead shot ammo for upland hunting? How have you managed and what ammo have you used in your old vintage guns? #UplandJitsu #TheArtOfUplandHunting #Ithaca37 #IthacaShotgun #KentAmmo #Bismuth #QuailHunting #Wingshooting #UplandHunting #UplandTradition #CaliforniaQuail #ValleyQuail #GambelsQuail #MountainQuail #UplandLowlife #Filson1897 #FilsonLife #OrvisHunting #FindYourWild #PublicLandsProud #PublicLandOwner #KeepItPublic #QuailForever
