name an album you feel is perfect: there are so many on my favorites list but one deeper cut that i would less people are less familiar with is the steve cropper albert king pops staples album jammed together which transcends the idea of a super group it's an absolutely insane blues album done by three legends cannot highly recommend it enough

name a song that i wish was longer: "fajita!" by roe kapara; he should have repeated the verse/B section ("too silly! i'm too goofy for your touch" etc.) at least once more or made it the chorus!

8. favorite month of the year and why?

june. i am a simple creature -- my birthday is in june and i find the weather changing and the build up to the solstice and summer holidays is so lovely. i know a lot of people don't love it, but i love june. so far -- knock on wood -- nothing bad has occured to me in june. long may that continue. and for anyone who doesn't enjoy june, juneteenth-my birthday-solstice is a hell of a triple holiday to celebrate, if you need something to get you through 

11. what kind of music is stuck in your head a lot lately?

irritatingly waco, texas by ethel cain is in my head despite me not wishing to support her because of her edgy racism. but the lyric "i'd reach into your body / and fix you if i could" just gets me. rockman by mk.gee is also an earworm too. and if you're too shy (let me know) by the 1975 like congrats matty for getting in my head the weekend of your wedding. heavenly father by bon iver also. oh and the strokes. anything by the strokes i just start singing it randomly, much to the confusion of my friends and the bus driver.

15. what's a piece of advice you find yourself giving a lot?

you cannot be in trouble as an adult unless you let yourself be. which sounds like common sense but so many of my wonderful talented friends, who are often the smartest person in the rooms they are in, won't speak for someone thinks they are a fool or they get in trouble for voicing an opinion. often to their own detriment -- stress, illness, anxiety. fuck that. you cannot be in trouble as an adult unless you let yourself be. and do not let yourself. what do they know? it's one interaction. short of carrying out brain surgery and snipping the wrong synapse, is it really that big of a deal? you don't have to people please to be liked; some people aren't going to like you but you won't be in trouble for being you. say what you want to say. don't mousely force yourself to take up less space for fear of being in trouble. i guarantee you won't be.

20. what do you wish someone would ask you?

honestly anything. a. i love to chat; b. i have a lot of weird stories and information just living in my brain that needs an outlet. i've been asked everything on this site -- porn recommendations, makeup tips, about my life, about my family, favourite books and films and music, fic recs, OC descriptions, opinions on X Y and Z -- and am always happy to be. just ask. i'm sure i shall provide an answer.

18. favourite film aspects?

when a director doesn't think i'm too stupid to follow their plot. colour as a character. soundtrack motifs repeating. the space between two characters. physicality. the technicality of good costume design.

20. least favourite actor?

i mean i would hit jared leto with a bus if i could get away with it but the least of his crimes is his acting even tho it's bad.

there's a lot of actors i can't watch cos their fanbases have made them intolerable but that's too many to list. if we're gonna go in terms of talent, i'mma say dylan o'brien cos he just plays dylan o'brien in a different sweater in everything.

30. favourite animals?

basic answer: cats. wolves.

carnation: how important are looks to you in a relationship?

not especially.

now. i won't sit here and lie and say my interest in a person isn't sparked by how they look. of course as a visual species there is something about someone visually that draws me in at first. but ultimately if i love someone, it's for more than how they look. if i love them, i know the person and how they look is an afterthought.

i've known glen for 25 years this september. i know every feature of her face, hands, hair because i have looked at her twice a week since the first one we met. but at the same time i couldn't draw her. because who she is and what she looks like exist in two different parts of my brain and while i could talk about glen for the rest of my days and never run out of interesting [to me] things to say, i would could do that and never mention how she looks once.

hibiscus: what's your favourite pet name, if any?

i love "honey".

i learned very recently that suzanne wants to name her daughters -- if she ever has any -- honey and poppy and it hit me warmly somewhere very deeply. because it was something i never knew. and it's so sweet.

there's something so wonderful about "honey". this beautiful "you are the sweetest thing, for as far back as humankind can remember" notion we give to those we treasure. i adore it.

hot pink: what's your favourite relationship trope?

"i could fix you but i like how you are." or "we can help fix one another."

similar to "i could fix him but i don't want to" but without the aggression. there is a softness to it. this look through the crowd and not gleefully seeing a monster and knowing it's yours but instead meeting the person's gaze and thinking "oh, it's you" and knowing it's ok. you're both flawed because you're human and that's ok.
