I kid you not when I saw this notification just now. Like five minutes after waking up. I just froze. Never did I expect to ever get an ask, but here we are. Thanks, love!

I am a certified rambler when it comes to my interests, and whether or not my favourite ships are married is one of those things. Hiorin are indeed married in my AU! But they both kept their own surname. They’ve been living in Spain for the last 25 or so years, and from my research married couples don’t change their surnames and their children end up (usually) getting the first of each parent’s double surname. Honestly I just love the double surname system so much I think that’s why I let Hiorin keep their own. I tag Chi as “Itoshi Chi” but their legal name is “Chi Itoshi Hiori” since they were born and raised in Spain. Same concept for their cousin Nao, though Ryusae are only dating.

The anatomy is pretty wonky for some poses (*cough* top left *cough*) since I didn't use references for anything but the worm's-eye perspective, but I love how her hair turned out in all of these! It's so flowy and soft and free UGHH this is just part of the reason Chi is my favourite child. (Also definitely a better depiction than in this post.)

I love the top right drawing, because their eyes turned out so nicely and the hair has such a good shape and the pose turned out so shy I love it!!! The middle one is probably my favourite though, because I didn't actually expect that I'd be able to pull it off so well. She's the type to help kids who get bullied. The left one... I dunno, I just couldn't get it to work but if I used a reference I know I would want to redo the other two with references as well so I had to restrain myself. I like the whole protagonist vibe it has though, like "Yes! Look at my goal! Look at ME!!!" How is this the child of Rin... (answer: see above)

I've always wanted her (and Hotaru) to be very different on court and off it, and for Chi this is specifically to show that she is an Itoshi through and through. I won't act like they aren't the "nice type" of character, but some divergence from the stereotype felt needed. Plus, I love juxtaposition in characters, so here we are. Keep away from them when football is involved and you'll be fine.
