just wanted to rant a little about writing challenges because im feeling a churning feeling in my gut about them...

i wanted to do a crapton of them this month because there are so many and i wanted to be an event completionist for them, as in i had something for every prompt. everything ive written so far is super clunky and incomplete. planned to write everything over fall break but managed nothing.

i see tons of other people putting their stuff out there with what seems like ease while im trying to write believable dialogue but it still turns out ooc. i haven't even completed day 1 of whumptober and i started it at the beginning of the month.

now i feel like a waste of space on this platform because people who are busier than me can put this out while im lagging behind. it's not working.

im not artistically talented and i have to wait till the inspiration hits to start writing...then i have to get into a specific flow...otherwise i produce crap and that's why it TAKES SO FUCKING LONG TO DO. and then after writing i am often so tired i don't want to proofread my own work and just want to get it out already because i feel like i should be posting stuff.

i wanted to do so much but it turns out that i can do NOTHING.

im gonna complain cause i love it but its very easy to not talk about lovecraft when talking about cosmic horror given that hes a shit writer and the only reason his stuff is interesting is cause ppl took the very little amount that was interesting and expanded upon it.
