I think about your header on tumblr and it reminded me that there was a lot of essentially thrown in details in the Pokemon movies that vex me a lot but the two that vexed me most was all of the clearly advanced robotics and AI shown in the pokemon movie set in generation three with the snack vending machine that walked around that was quadrapedal, and the fact that in the pokemon movie in gen four surrounding manaphy that the pirate was in fact super strong because he had a fucking powered linear frame hidden under his clothes and was only revealed when his clothes were torn while holding up a boulder. they just drop the fact those exist in pokemon and never do anythign with them. do you know what i mean

Throwing that kind of stuff into the mix probably wasnt meant to be anything more than something interesting to aid the movie plots progress, which is why they rarely bring those kinds of things up again. Most one off occurances end up helping creative folks in the long run to drum up their own interpretation on how the world works now that they have new information.

Not every hole is a door, but every door starts as a hole. The concepts could be a dead end, sure, or you can connect the dots, form your own theory, and make sense of it in your own way
