i'm super soured that the word 'multiple' has gotten such a strong association with endos considering it literally comes from "multiple personality disorder". it really salts my apples that i get judged if i use the word "multiple" to describe myself MORE than if i use the word "system". in all honesty i hate the word "system" and i don't care for it. there's nothing wrong with it, i just don't like it.
you can argue what you want about "system of parts" and whatnot, but all things considered, that specific phrase is not brought up that many times in the literature so i can understand why the rest of the phrase got lost. i don't care that endos use it and i sincerely feel like a lot of the outrage around endos using it is manufactured for the sake of us vs. them clique drama.
but MULTIPLE???? short for multiple personality disorder???? i literally see this word used to describe patients in academic papers from the 90s all the time, like literally authors will point blank refer to patients as "a multiple", and now you're telling me i can't use it because someone's going to accuse me of being endogenic?????
this is why i don't care. this is why none of the discourse really matters to me. it is inherently very not worth my time. but it is really, really irritating to have that constant perception around me just because i like to describe myself as multiple.
