Aubree stopped by earlier. She and August are back from their honeymoon. After hearing about the fun she had, well minus certain details. I don’t need to know that.

We got into my life.

I explained what had been going on since her wedding. Complete with hand gestures to express myself.

“You need your own reality show.” Aubree commented with a laugh. It’s not that she wasn’t concerned about me. I know that. But sometimes you just have to laugh.

That’s what I did. Laugh. “I could have a season of the bachelorette mixed with survivor.”

“For real.” Aubree said with a nod as we both calmed down. “I know what you need.  You need to hit something.”

She was right. It felt good to pound away on that punching bag at the gym. It allowed me to get out my frustrations and my feelings of hopelessness. The biggest surprise that was somehow, it allowed me to finish sorting things out. It came to me as I lifted my fists for a few more punches, feeling sweat make my shirt stick to my back. I realized that I love one man but I’m in love with the other. There’s a difference, to me anyway. I know what I have to do now. I just hate the part where I have to hurt someone.
