#Repost @voicesofhope with @get_repost ・・・ One thing I’ve learnt while struggling is to take one thing at the time. Usually when we are faced with a bundle of complications, we tend to try and solve everything at once, or try to find one easy way to get to a solution. That mindset is, in my experience, what caused most of my anxiety and negative thoughts. Instead of seeing your complications as a whole, try take another look from a different perspective and see each step as an accomplishment. Once you overcome one bump in the road, you are one step closer to your goal. The second picture was sent to me a year ago by my psychiatrist I had when I lived in Sweden. I drew this picture in one of our sessions, and she told me all about taking one step at the time. She said to draw where I’ve been, and to where I’m about to go. Being sent this drawing 2 years after I moved from my home, and finally feeling healthier than I’ve ever been - I got emotional seeing how far I’ve actually gotten. This mindset is something I still keep in mind on a daily. Some days the river I’m crossing is fierce and intense with the slippiest of rocks to step on, and some days it’s a calm stream that I can easily cross.
